You need a week off and you have been for six months. How many hours / days have you accumulated?
You can be honest and tell your supervisor that you need a week off–this may mean you may need a day or two off without pay. It’s better to be honest about this.
I was able to tell my previous boss that I needed a day off for a job interview. She was fine with it, and no hard feeling when I left that job to the one I am now. Still in touch with old friends there, etc.
Better to be honest about stuff like this. A doctor we worked with ages ago called in sick one day and he was seen catching home-run ball at the baseball game (on TV). He got in trouble!
People are entitled to time off from work, and you may not have to go into details about everything. But it’s best to be open about it (to your boss). It’s no one else’s business, by the way, if you choose not to talk about it. Pooky

They will usually know you are lying if you say it is for a sick relative.
Tell them you made the reservations a year ago and if you don’t go you will lose tons of money.
Are you a good employee? Do you miss any time at work?
If you answered yes and no, I would give you the time off. Michelle

there could be many reasons to give to get a week off but first think if you really need to risk your job for a vacation. Can you afford to loose your job…. just in case???
the reason could be like -
1. you are sick
2. some one in the family is sick
3. some one in the family passed away
4. you need to go and drop your younger sis/bro to your grandparents home
5. your friend is serious and in hospital with no one to care for her/him and you need to be there
6. you have to attend to some legal problems of your family and need that time to sort things.
hope it helps.
but think before doing any of the sort. sonu

if you’re looking to work there for a long time, just be honest….and say you need a week off for a vacation. make sure you let them know a couple of weeks ahead. Duygu I
