800 film will supposedly be ruined by TSA's x-ray machines, I would recommend you get them developed and hope for the best. Next time I would recommend you tell the officer at the metal detector that you want your cameras to be hand checked instead of going through the x-ray machine. breastcancerawareness

It really depends on the quality of film. Most one-time camera are fairly bullet proof. But, then the only way to know is develop the film. I travel a lot and only had problems in old small airports where their equipment is old.

Now TSA required all airport to update their equipment. So I am willing to bet you are ok. Chris

I've taken film through an airport x-ray machine many times with never a problem...

Your mileage may vary. lborgens

They made you put it through the scanner? Way back when I was still using disposables, they never forced that on me. I usually just handed it to the security person, they took a quick look at it, then handed it back to me.

Again, you won't really know until you take them to be developed. My suggestion is to go ahead and take them both to be developed... a lot of the time they won't even charge you if it doesn't come out right... they want to keep your business. Sakura

very likely - its fine - Ive gone through alot of airports where everything goes through the scanner and you dont try to argue with guys carrying ak-47's. Film has always been fine. dukemack

There is really no way to tell until you develop your film, Since you had 2 rolls I would develop one first to see if its okay before spending the money on both. In the past I have sent film through the scanners - sometimes they are okay, sometimes not - I guess it depends on what type of scanner they are using. SweetMeatBalls

There are signs warning people about what the x-ray machine may damage. Undeveloped film could go both ways, I let undeveloped film go through once and it destroyed my pictures. Maybe the machines have improved, who knows. Take it to a photo developing place and ask them if it is worth developing to see if the film held out. Colleen H
